Forum Policies

The HardAssets Forum discussions are intended to foster an exchange of information and ideas within the hard asset investment community.  This service is provided as a place where participants can actively tap the knowledge of the investment community as well as share thoughts, ideas, and opinions.  This web-based, threaded discussion area does not require any special software or knowledge.  Just use your web browser, please follow the policies, and get involved!  The forums are broken into sub-forums based on certain topics.

By participating in The HardAssets Forum discussions, participants agree to the following policies:

HardAssets has the right to remove any message it deems objectionable or that is not in HardAssets' best interest, or to terminate service to participants who violate the terms of these policies

Name-calling and abuse is not allowed.  HardAssets reserves the right to remove any post or reply that is off-topic, abusive, harassing, that we deem to be in poor taste or objectionable, or that violates any site policy.  The decision to remove a post or reply is made at our sole discretion.

Impersonating a staff member or message board monitor is expressly prohibited.

No advertisements.  This includes any notices that are for any type of item for real money.  The forums on HardAssets.com may not be used for any commercial purpose.  Contributors may not post advertisements or solicitations for products, services, or private property for sale, except in the areas of the site specifically reserved for this purpose. Please consider proper grammar and punctuation.  Messages that are vague or incoherent may be removed.

No "spamming." "Spamming" is the term used to describe posting the same message or substantially the same message in several places at the same time.  Please pick a topic that closely matches your subject.

Participants in The HardAssets Forum discussions may not post any information that is libelous or defamatory or that discloses private or personal matters concerning any person. Participants may not post messages or links to data, images or programs that are vulgar or obscene.

Participants in The HardAssets Forum discussions may not use the facilities and capabilities of The HardAssets Forum to conduct any illegal activity or solicit the performance of any illegal activity.

Please make sure your post is located in the most relevant forum (ie: please do not post about Coins in the Mining or Gemstone areas). Posts in the wrong place will be removed.

Please make sure your post makes a point, asks a question, answers a question, is informative, or encourages continued conversation.  If the moderator cannot make at least one of these descriptions fit your post, it will likely be removed.

Please name your post something that helps readers know what your thread might be about.
